Birds

There are are many birds that reside here in the UK, with somerset hosting the majority of British species. Birds for the most part bring a sense of joy and an appreciation of wildlife to many people. Although beautiful, these animals can and will cause problems in domestic and commercial settings. pigeons are one of our biggest pests here in the UK and will cause big issues when nesting in loft spaces and under solar panels. Minehead, Bridgwater and Taunton also hosts high levels of seagulls which often nest in roofs and chimneys and will become aggressive when they are rearing young. Birds can cause significant damage to property and are not the easiest house guests to live with as they are very noisy, say goodbye to your Sunday morning lie in when you have pigeons in/on your property. To add to this, bird droppings are extremely hazardous to health and contain a multitude of viruses and bacteria (Psittacosis and bird flu to name a few). Although transmission rates are relatively low, we at KO Pest Control have found that its the people with COPD or asthma that are most at risk as bird dropping can cause severe respiratory reactions.

The image above shows a heavily infested loft space that had unfortunately fell into a clients apartment. Here at KO Pest Control we can remove (depending on species of bird) and block access to prevent any further ingress and damage. We also use our specialist products and equipment to do a deep clean and remove any harmful substances from your living/working environment. Customers may also notice that they have a cockroach infestation when they have bird dropping within their premises. This is because cockroaches thrive amongst bird droppings as it is a rich food source for them.
